Chey is originally from Farmington, Connecticut. She moved to Massachusetts to get her Bachelors Degree in Advertising and Graphic Design at The Art Institute of Boston (AIB). It was at AIB where she was able to study under some of the most talented creatives in advertising, including Jonathan Plazonja, Mike Sheehan, and Rob Rich (to just name a few). They helped mold Chey to think strategically and conceptually.
Thanks to her education, Chey landed her first job at Hill, Holliday (then Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos). After HHCC, Chey went on to work at Mullen, Duffy & Shanley, and Talbots. She was exposed to a multitude of clients ranging from financial and education to technology and health care. Chey was particularly inspired by CEO, Jack Connors. He became a significant role model for her. She admired how easily he built relationships and was kind and considerate to every single employee. Jack’s give-back-to-charity mentality also resonated with Chey. She always makes time to volunteer her creative services to non-profit organizations. Most importantly, in 2006 she and her sister, cofounded a 501c3 non-profit organization, Double Dog Rescue. With the help of hundreds of volunteers, the organization has saved thousands of dogs from being euthanized in the south.
Chey credits her mentors for instilling a good work ethic, while mentoring others. Some of these mentors include, Dick Pantano, Dave Gardiner, Jamie Mambro, Nancy Harhut, Allan Woolwine, and Mike Sheehan. Because of her role models, she enjoys helping young professionals in their careers. Chey stresses the importance of building and maintaining relationships, pay it forward, and to never forget your roots.CONTACT
